would you want to change the oil and oil filter of a 2nd gen rex thats been flooded? i thought i heard some thing about doing that but the thing is that it floods but i can get it started after awhile? just need to know what to do b/c i dont want to end up having to replace the engine(which i might have to do anyway)

Change your oil if its been 3,000 miles or longer, yes gasoline gets into the oil just smell you dip stick. Will changing your oil solve your starting problem, probably NOT.
Hard starting can be because of many things, including leaking injector(s), low compression, poor fuel pressure, worn spark plugs, no fuel in the tank.... the list is endless.
