I have 1986 RX-7 and I can't shift into reverse but i can shift into all the other gears. What do I do?

 

The reverse lockout in the transmission that keeps you from shifting from 5th to Reverse may be jammed, but I'm no trans expert, just one of the things that I have seen stick before.

 

try a double clutch movement, or pump the clutch, it always worked for me.....

Can you shift into it with the car off? Do you ever have any grinds in the other gears? Is your reservouir filled up? Any leaks?

 

I'll check the reservouir and I don't know anything about a transmission lockout and how would I fix that? thanks for your help
