Why RX7?

I'm new here and I'm considering purchasing an RX7. I have seen some good prices on '88 to '91 RX7 including the Turbo IIs. What are the selling points of the cars? Are the turbo models reliable or problematic. How is the handling? What are the maintence costs like. Should I look for a third generation? I'm also considering a corvette and a 911 (Way more expensive). Is the RX7 the car for me? Thank you for your insite and opinions.

What year RX-7 are you looking to get? If you got the bling bling to throw down on a Vette or a 911, why not throw the bling bling down on a Vette or 911?

I will be streaching it to get the Vette or the 911, it will leave me with no repair or upgrade money in reserve. The RX7 was recommended and I liked the price when I saw that I could get a '91 TurobII for $3,600 in good condition. I have never had a sports car before, so I don't need the ultimate machine, but I do want something that has some speed and handling. From the little I have read so far, it seems that with the right turbo set up, you can get some nice HP numbers.

Get a TII, upgrade your suspension and you WILL be content. Do some reliabilility mods before going crazy with engine/bolt-on stuff, you will be happy later on!

Welcome to the Club

Get a Turbo II!If you have the money for a Vette or 911 you could buy a less expensive car like a Turbo II and make it just as quick.RX7s have great handling and respond very well to mods.Sure your gonna break **** but on any high mileage car things will break especially if its quick, your definatlly going to break some **** then.Do you plan on daily driving this car?
