Why Does My Car Smoke!!!AND HESITATE '93FD

when i start my car and the engine is cold, it smokes white smoke for about two minutes. It is a '93 rx7 with 70k. on it. Could it be my turbos? Also around 3k rpms the engine hesitates for a second or two and then goes back to normal. someone please help me out here!!!

how much white smoke? Is it a James Bond smoke screen? Is it a thick white cloud or is it more like steam? Take the pressure cap off the radiator and start the engine. Look in at the coolant and see if you see bubbles. If you do, then a water seal is broken and coolant is getting into the rotors. The bubbles are from the rotors compression getting into the coolant system. Go back and smell the exhaust. If it smells sweet like coolant then that will indicate a problem as well. If its just a little bit of smoke, then I wouldn't worry as much. If the smoke is white with a blue tint, then its probably oil. Rotary engines burn oil on start up because its harder for oil to drain back to the oil pan in a rotary than it is in a piston engine.

As far as the hesitation, I would ask that question in the 3rd gen forum. Those guys would know more specifically what causes that.

the white smoke like the gentleman before me said can be normal to a point. if ur consuming no antifreeze and have no cooling issues then its probably normal condensation in the exhaust. If its anymore than its time to rip apart the motor buddy. As for the rumored "normal" 3000 rpm hesitation, it does get better with an additional ground kit that bolts up to the motor in like 10 min(pettit gives it away free with any order i think). I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I CHANGED MY OXYGEN SENSOR IT GOT VIRTUALLY TAKEN CARE OF!!!! i have another oxygen sensor available for sale on the parts section of this site. IT SHOULD HELP IMMENSELY. it made a difference on my car and my friends rx too. i have the leftover one because my buddy sold his before i got to put it in.
