where would this come from?

My car leaks coolent and i have just found that it is leakn from where the trany and the motor connect. I was wondering if anyone of you could tell me where this is coming from and if there is a way to fix it without a compleat teardown i would be eternaly greatful thanks.

If it really actually is leaking from inside the bellhousing area, I'd say one of the little tension bolt washers' rubber thing is old or the washer itself is rusty allowing coolant to dribble out. Of course it could also be one of the heater core hoses dribbling onto the engine and then dripping from where the tranny meets the engine. I guess what I'm saying is it could be a lot of things. Use an extremely bright light and study your engine to try to see if the coolant could be coming from somewhere other than the tension bolt washers. If it is the tension bolt washers, the fix is a little less friendly to the pocketbook than a simple heater hose replacement.
