Ok,
Today I went to my girls house to pick her up, and I came to the first street leaving there, it is a good size hill and is had sand on the right side of it! I start to accelerate up it and my right tire starts to spin in the sand then as soon as my right tire gets out of the sand, my car makes a funny noise from the middle of the car (like something came apart in the tranny) the car starts to shake so I stop on the hill. I put it in reverse and try to back up it starts to move in reverse for about 4 feet then, it felt like something was binding up and stopping me. So, I put it in neutral and let it role down the hill back onto my girls street. I get out and turn my car around on foot, I get back in and put it in first gear an try to go the car starts to move, then it makes a thunk, thunk, thunk noise like somthing was hitting. (like maybe a broke axel noise) So, anyhow I put it in first gear and started to accelerate the car makes that thunk noise then I shift into second gear and it starts to go away. I drove about a 1/2 mile back to my girls house and parked it. The clutch feels fine, it goes in to all gears, and it starts up, I never had any problems with the gears, clutch and etc... I have about 120,000 miles on my car. Like I was saying it is binding up in reverse, I put the car in reverse and it will go back about 3 or 4 feet then it starts to feel like there is something stopping me I try give it a little gas and it just sits there and O teah that damn wierd noise! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! If you need more info about anything else just let me know, I do know alot about the REX

 

i know this one. had a similar instance happen to me in my rx3, just not in sand, crossing R/R tracks. had one break traction for a short time then grip again during acceleration. either way, u broke teeth off a spider gear. had the same symptoms u discribed. now it has LSD.

 

Thanks rxtasy3 for the help and quick response!! I hope you are right because it has been bothering me all day. I haven't looked at it yet but thats what I thought it might be. Someone said it sounds like your tranny(o god please no)but, I was like rx7 trannys are pretty damn strong. O Well thanks for the help! I will let you guys know the out come in about a weeks time....
