Water wetter ?

1987 N/A daily driver - Is there any advantage to be gained from using water wetter in a DD?

Of course! Depending on the water you are using it will make more or less of a difference. Compared to our piston equivilent we are run pretty hot. It may help with coolant seal life on a set that are probably on their last leg anyway.

Flush your cooling system first. And when you refill use distilled water.

The water wetter contains additional corrosion inhibitors but make sure you perform regular maintenence.

It's been shown to decrease temperatures when used correctly, but it's not necessary for an N/A.

Do this:

That will be FAR MORE than sufficient. Don't waste your money on water wetter.

How the hell will it it help with coolant seal life? The only way it would help is if it kept the engine from overheating. But, like I said above, that won't happen if your system is working properly.

Thanks for the responses. It gets very hot here in Tidewater VA and the rotary runs hot anyway. I haven't had any problems with overheating. The temp guage rarely goes above 1/3 of the way and I drained and flushed out the system a month ago. I had heard about water wetter and I was just curious.

i've never noticed any kind of a temperature drop with water wetter.

i did use the purple ice (royal purple's equivalent) in my old fc, and the temps climbing the cajon pass were about 8* cooler than without it. not exactly hard evidence, but enough for me to choose royal purple over redline products.
