Water temp sensor help

what happens if u do not have this sensor on the back plate of a 13b Turbo engine series 4. i am currently not running the sensor and have blocked up the hole. is this safe or will this make the engine run rough?

NOTHING BAD..

The only thing that's going to happen is, your temp gauge is not going to work.

Exclamation

The silliness of not having a working temperature gauge in a turbo rotary aside, the temp sensor also feeds to the ECU which dictates operating conditions of the engine, emissions, warmup etc.
Connect it back up and make sure it works !!

Check the wiring diagrams - the one on the back of the water neck is for the ECU, you want this one if you want your car to run right. The one for the guage in the car is down below the oil filter.

personally, i dont think it will make a difference. there is two coolant temperature sensors. one for the temp gauge, and one in the fuel rail which adjust to conditions (warm colds tart etc.) so if its the one for the gauge you have removed, it should be fine, but you wont know the temp.

Reread the first post...

13b Turbo engine series 4
It's an FC, not and FD.
FC's never came with fuel temp sensors.
