Alright, the back story on this car is that the guy was selling it for 2700, then he dropped it to 2500, and I bought it off of him for 1800. It has 87k miles on it, and is an automatic. Cutting to the chase, I did some research on wondering why my car struggles to start up. Solution, it floods with gas or something, so i have to pump the gas in order for the car to start...No problem. Here's the problems, whenever I put the car into reverse, the idle dies and it shuts off. It does this every time. The only way i can get it from shutting off is as soon as I put it into reverse, I have to pump the gas somewhat quick in order for my car not to die. I was thinking spark plugs, but someone from teamfc3s.org told me it's not the plugs. The only other thing i can think of is the coils. But again, i may be totally wrong about this, too. Another problem is the HOLD light, that continues to flash on a consistant basis. I researched it and found out that it's spitting out error codes. Right now i'm just trying to eliminate these two problems before I tackle the rest. But again, my idle dies when I put it in reverse, thus having me to restart me car. And a small concern, is it normal for an1st gear to reach about 4300rpms then switch into 2nd? That's what it does currently. If questions like these have already been answered, then I completely apologize. Help would be really good.
