Turbo/Wastegate problems!

To whome it may concern,

1) I have a 94 twin turbo that only has 65,000 miles on it. When engaging the boost, lets say at take off, I hear a rattling or clicking noise for the passenger side of the car (the side with the turbos). I have talked to some local turbo shops and they tell me if its a bad turbo then u should hear the noise all the time, but i dont, only when getting on it.

2) Also another problem Im having seems to be a fuel or breathing problem. When doing about 60-70 on the highway and my rpm's are at around 2500 the car starts to hestitate, like it not getting enough fuel or air. Could the problem above be causing this problem also? It also tries to die on me at a red light when at idle.

The weird thing about these two problems, is that they do not happen in any consistent fashion and not all the time. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Cody

Could be some vacuum leaks. 3rd gens are notorious for cracked vacuum lines and replacing them all is a PITA. I would check the lines to the wastegates and then think about replacing them all

Do you have a good boost gauge? It will help to see if you have some boost problems.

doesn't really matter, as long as it works. Just get one and pop it in on a pillar gauge pod and your in business! ^_^
