Question Turbo Cleaning

well,were almost done with my rebuild on my s4 t2 .while i have my turbo off the car how do i go about cleaning it ,its rather dirty?can i just dip it in parts cleaner,and the just let it dry?

roughly how hot does a turbo get

i don't see any problems with using a solvent like carb cleaner or brake cleaner, as long as you make sure you cover the inlet and outlet of the impeller. any debris that gets down in there would be bad.
