I was looking at a 1993 RX-7 and it's got 150k miles on it and the dude says that it blows white smoke occassionally and was wondering if I am just gonna have problems with it? I've also heard that you should do a engine swap not to long after 100k. So does it sound like I would be buying a trouble or not? He wants $11,500 for it.

 

my guess is that if its got 150k on the engine then it is probably on its last leg, most people dont make it past 100k

 

What do ya think that white smoke might be from? Do ya think it's worth the money or should I try to have him lower the price or just not even bother with the car?

 

if it's white smoke it's a coolant seal going, if it's bluish it's an oil seal, both are bad. i'd look for a different car
