Transmission stuck in reverse

upon going to a friend's this past weekend, my tranny become stuck in reverse after pulling into a lot to turn around. the ironic thing was that i never even shifted it into reverse to get it stuck there. i've gone through some older threads here and it seems some others have had this happen but as per normal of this board, no one comes back to explain what happened or how it was fixed. so my friend paul happened to get online and find this article that describes EXACTLY the symptoms my car had. so i figured i'd post it up just incase someone else gets into this. i'm going to try this quick repair tomorrow if i get the chance.

Getting stuck in 3rd is probably better because at least you can sorta go highway speeds if necessary.

I am going to try this repair on my car tomorrow, since it is stuck in reverse, but can shift into 1st and 2nd. Aamco wants to replace/repair both clutch and tranny. F-em.
