Unhappy transmission problem fc

Hie, just bought an '88 (2nd gen) rx7 convertible and i need help. The car starts with a jumpstart because battery is dead. after the car is started, i put it into gear and it won't move. I don't really know what he problem is so could someone please help me out??? I don't know if I need to change the transmission or maybe the clutch. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks.

check your transmission fluid if you have an automatic tranny if you have a manual tranny your clutch is probably gone the best way to find out is drop the transmission and look at the clutch.

Does reverse work or any other gear?

the car is manual and it does shift to all gears but does not move the car when the clutch is let go. The car does not even stall or move in any gear.

Have you ever driven the car, or is this how you bought it? Check basic things first, like is the driveline intact, busted, missing? If driveline is fine I would also check to make sure clutch or throwout bearing arn't stuck in open position, with car in neautral press and slowly release clutch pedal, you should hear throwout bearing engage. If all is fine check rearend. Unfortunately beyond that you are looking at a tranny pull
