TII rotor housing question

For all you engine builders out there, how much heat can an FC rotor housing take? The reason I ask is my inner O ring blew and the engine over heated to the point the temp. gauge pegged *TWICE* trying to drive home. I would say it pegged for about 10 minutes til I shut it down. Damn housings are new and only 20,000 miles old. I know it warped to the point it blew out the inner O ring seal. Is the rotor housing salvageable? I'm not sure what kind of abuse it could take. I have a straight edge and micrometer to measure upon tear down but if the chance is not good, I might as well buy rotor housings so there isn't a long down time. I have only 3 days. Yes, it can be done from start to finish. Just no sleep for 3 days.

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

my experience with our race motors is when overheated badly the rotor housing actually shrinks in the area of the spark plugs. check for differences in thickness all aound the rotor housing. not sure of the tolerance(could only be a couple thousandths) from good to bad but remember the o-ring is very thin so all parts need to be as flat as possible. if time is an issue order the new housings.

Hey Tim,
Have you had any experience with the Hayes O ring? I called Mazdatrix and the guy I talked to just didn't buy the high temp O ring. He's saying it's not neccessary. What's your opinion?
