Throttle stuck?? Help

throttle stuck, wtf??
ok guys, about 3 months ago, i drove my car to the side of the yard when it was coming a rainstorm, well, it rained for like a week, and the area where the car was was muddy as hell, so i crank er up put it in first slowly let out on the clutch, it spins, so im like sheeeit, so i rev it to about 4500 and pop the clutch, spin, i keep it going till about 5000, then all the sudden it started reving to like 8500 without my foot on the gas, so i shut it off, i got my cousin to pull the car out and put it in the driveway, now every time i crank it, the rpms just climb till i have to kill it, i cant figure out whats wrong any ideas guys????
by the way the car is a 1985 gs carbed,
Hellllp please!!!

maybe the thorttle cable is bound up or something. It comes out of the driver side firewall, and runs along the back of the throttle body...see if its stuck, or if the linkage it attaches to is stuck or something.
