throttle body spacer 13b

A guy threw in a throttle body spacer with some other parts I bought of him. He said that it is wider and sucks more air, but when I put on it didn't look bigger at all. Can anyone explain how these work, or if they are worth a damn. Ide do care about my engine...

Weather or not they work really depends on the vehicle and the desired results. Typically they are a waste of time/money. They started as an upgrade for old V8's that had horribly designed intake manifolds. The spcer would increase the plenum size and allow for a smother transition from the TB to the runners. One more modern engine the intake manifolds are properly designed for the characteristics of the engine.

Also the stock plastic spacer is needed as it has vacuum passages in it.

So what do u think about using one on a 13b na? Will it cause problems? Do I need to change anything else if I run it. Or will it cause engine to run lean?? I'm kinda scared of it lol

As long as you don't block of the vacuum ports, it wont hurt anything.
