thermostat bypass

someone told me to buy a plug and plug off the water thermostat plug which is located behing the thermostat when you take it out.What does this do and does it prevent overheating,i already took ot the thermostat but seeing high temps under boost.

Stick a plug in it. Otherwise, it's like opening a hole inside the waterpump which allows water to circulate inside without any cooling.

nah, forget about plugging it. I havent noticed a difference in temperature. be sure to gut out the t-stat and just use the housings to slow down the flow of coolant. you need that restriction to allow the coolant to absorb the heat on a stop and go traffic.
