Are there any problems with "quick drain" oil plugs?

I've seen the "quick drain" oil plugs at assorted parts stores - it's a two piece unit, one piece that replaces the standard drain plug, and the other that clamps on, opens a valve, and drains the oil out a hose. It looks like this would be a really slick system for changing oil.

Are there any downsides I should know about? I'm not sure if it's worth the $15, or if they have issues not draining any sludge or such that's built up. Opinions?
