Test drove 93 RX-7 this is the list of probs..

Well first of all I used the checklist from here.

http://rx7.voodoobox.net/infofaq/bguide3g/bguide3g.html

Clean Oill? - Its not that the oil was clean it was more or less the car was really low on oil. Which made me wonder.
AST OK? - I didnt know what this was or would of checked it.

10-8-10 Boost Pattern? Went to 10, then cause there was a boost leak went to 4 and never back up.

No Smoke During WOT Runs? There was constant white smoke
No Smoke At High-RPM Shifts? Still constant white smoke
Pulls To Redline Smoothly? Not at all cause the 2nd turbo has a leak.
No Oil or Coolant Leaks? There was a noticable liquid buildup on the bottom chasis upon inspection it looked like oil.

Everything else on the check list checked out just fine. However being it only passed 40% of the checklist I am guessing this car should be considered not a good buy. However, does anyone have any recommendations at what these repairs could cost? I am trying to learn as much as possible in a week so any help I would greatl appreciate! Thanks a bunch!!

Wow, unless your on first name basis with a good rotary mechanic I would pass. White smoke could be coolant. If the smoke is blueish than I would suspect a bad turbo seal. The boost problem could be as minor as needing vac hose job, to bad solinoids, or a bad turbo. The white smoke concerns me more that the boost issue. Don't buy it unless the cost of repairs are deducted from the selling price.

We have a Rotary specialist in Dover where the car is located. The guy selling the car was going to get me in touch with him but its been 4 hours and no call. I'm basically looking at what ever the mechanic says to get this car back to 100%, is what he is going to take off the price to get me to buy it. Thanks for the info though!

If you had only a boost leak, you would never get 10 psi. It sounds like something is wrong with the turbo control system or the secondary turbo is shot. The constant smoking is not good either. I would pass.
