new problom now my tack works shows batery voltage but after the engine is running the rpm gage wont work . it was just working. what runs that gage? wire from coil wire from startor?

Would be helpful to know what year the car is and whether it's stock. Also, have you checked the online working diagram pdf files that are freely available? My guess is that you have a 79 or 80 model. I know that the 81 to 85 models trigger their tach from the trailing ignitor, so if you know the equivalent in your car you should know where the tach signal comes from. Check the online wiring diagram for a definitive answer though.

 

i drove it home no rpm. tried to crank it this morn and come to find out my rear closest to the driver coil isnot sparking and it wont hot wire . so yah i asume it goes to that coil . i just dont know how it was running on the frunt coil only might be that i had leading plug pluged in to the trailing plug. rotory will fire in many wiring ways not just leading to leading plug strange .

 

ok here it is . no spark from coil. i was under assumtion the 80 didnt have ignitors as it has a ignightor box. the igniters are on the back. testes switched and one was bad thus no power going to it or gage.i have a 85 parts car with ignightors but they are smaller . tried one i had as spair . no fire went to parts car took one offthat was atone time good hooked it up . tada firer. so even though the 80 ignighter is larger the 85 ones will fit some what just only have one screw holding it on.lol all this time i thought it didnt have egnightors becaus they wernt on the distributor . i never noticed them behind the box all these years.no rpm no fire switch things around problom solved as usual . some times i dont need the help i just dont understand wiring guides and how they woork . thanks for some insight turbo i just needed that boost funy no one else coud say a thing. somme what 100 = looks no one said nuthing . and i thought it was my spelling .as i always get scorned for that no one understands my words
