Tacho problems

Hi

Just wondering if anyone can help me with my current problem. I recently changed my waterpump and whilst doing so changed my heater hoses. I probably knocked a few things about down there and now my tacho is no longer working. I'd like to know, where does the tacho connect to to ense the revs? I was hoping that I might have just pulled out a wire. Also, when I restarted the car, it turned over and everything went dead. I realized that this was just due to the battery terminal being loose. However, could I have blown a fuse or something? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Regards
Glenn

p.s., I know nothing about the tacho, i.e. where it is suppose to connect to etc. I ahve a 1982 Australian rx7, 12a, auto with air conditioning and pretty much straight and original.
