T2 swap into 1st gen.?

I am swapping a 13b-t into my first gen. it's currently a 12a auto, what parts do I need to perform the swap? I was wondering do i need new motor mounts fabed? and will I have any ECU trouble? I am builing it to what I hope will amount to 380-400Hp what kind of suspension will I need? Will I have to worry about Nose hop (will I need a wheelie bar?) this car is just a fun car street, drag, SCCA racing. What kind of clutch will I need? what ignition? what will be the most practical brake set-up?

You'll need to do the transmission swap along with the engine swap to hold that much power. That is a pain in the rear to do, too. You would probably be good with the performance Daiken clutch/pressure plate set, if you can get it under that name. The OEM and all racing beat clutch parts are just reman Daiken's. Its a japanese brand. ACT grips too hard, and you will have nothing left of a drivetrain if you abuse it at all.

I'm not exactly sure how the swap goes from 12a to 13bt, but I know for a fact that all first gen engines mount on the front cover. You'll need to get the gsl-se engine's front cover and put it on the TII engine. You may need to drill out th eholes for the motor mount, i'm not too sure.

ECU would be a fairly easy install, beings you're just wiring in the tii ECU to the TII engine. The things you will run into trouble with is stuff like the logicon and other non-engine related components. Perhaps you could do some sort of hybrid between the TII and stock. Another problem you will run into is the placement of the throttle cable. You will need to do a custom throttle cable, as the TII throttle opens from around th eother side (than the stock one does). The TII wraps all the way around the engine and then connects, whereas the FB cable goes straight.

As for suspension, i'm running an Eibach pro kit, and otherwise stock. I really like it. You should run, if you're very particular, some Tokiko Illumina's on all corners, get a racing beat front sway bar, poly bushings up front, rubber rear (promotes more oversteer, as our cars tend to understeer). You won't need a wheelie bar. I dont think you'll even ahve to worry about nose-hop.

The stock ignition should work fine. Brakes, just get some really nice top of the line brake pads, and the stainless steel braided brake line hose kit, with some ultra high temp brake fluid. They will stop you on a DIME. Be careful.

Hope that helps you out!

Check the 1st gen forum out. Many topics on this subject. I'm thinking of doing the same thing.
