Supercharged rotaries
Has anyone here ever supercharged a rotary using a rootes style blower?
We are building a 13B, ported, doweled, etcetc and have a 4/71 blower to go on it. Maybe 20B yet.
We are going to run Haltech ECU and it will be intercooled.
Now, i have heard of problems with the blower being out of its efficency range when the revs get up etc, the blower chopping up the air flow at high RPM (yet those V8 drag cars don't exactly run at idle speed do they, they rev very well) etcetc.
the injectors will be after the intercooler so thats not a problem.
we are determined to use a 4/71 blower, if not it will be turbo, but only if the blower is a waste of time. If 13b goes in, I am aiming for 4-450HP, if the 20B, 550Hp with lower boost.
your thoughts? Anyone with experience here?
