Sunnuva! Help!

Alllright... here goes :

I got a jspec t2 motor, had a guy modify an a-spec wiring harness to work with jspec injectors... I have the motor running and idling, however, the timing is severely retarded, and won't align correctly no matter what I do... is there something else I need to modify to make the timing work?

I know that jspec injectors run at 13 ohms and americans run at 3 or so. Is this where the problem lies? Do I need a jspec harnes and ECU?

Please help someone, I can't take not having a car any more. I'm going nuts. Thanks in advance, Jordan

um so you went from 3ohm injectors with 13 ohm injectors? if you did that you need to bypass the resistor block over by the airbox. the "wrong" injectors won't affect the timing though, are you jumping the check connector by the battery? are you off a tooth on the cas?

heres the complete story...

i blew my motor shortly after buying the car (high mileage american motor that was not taken care of.)
the harness on that motor was toast, so i purchased another. i then bought a japanese motor and installed it with the injectors it came with (red top), along with the american harness i purchased that was modified for use with the high-impedence injectors (bypass of the resistor as you said). the motor does start and run, so im thinking im looking in the wrong place...

i do have the battery relocated to the interior of the car behind the passenger seat, however. i used a Summit Racing relocation kit to do this. im not sure what the "check connector" is... thanks in advance, Jordan

FC3S is an Idiot

OK so not completely but anyhow. This is Tom now not Jordan and his motor is running because i checked the spark at the trailing coils and there was none so once Jordan and i replaced it....
what do ya know perfect. Timing is now good and all that needs to be done now is to smog and register is so i am sure Jordan will post more threads about how to pass his car on test only in CA.
