Exclamation Stripped Oil-Cooler Fitting

Hello, looking for some opinions on this

Purchased a TurboII FC, had a pretty major oil leak
The old owner thought it was coming from a cracked front cover, however I started taking it apart and found out it came from a stripped oil cooler fitting on the bottom right of the 13B-T

Now here is where I need some input...
Should I just replace the front cover, and get one with good thread for the new fitting?
Or, can re-use my current front cover and get a fitting machined with a little longer thread and save some time on labor?

I'm worried If I go with the 2nd route, there's a chance it will still leak and I'll have to do the front cover anyways

Let me what you guys think, thanks

M16 Timesert? A pricey option, but you wont have to remove the front cover.

Hmm good idea, would it leave metal shavings in the engine though from re-tapping?

Maybe someone local has a kit they wouldn't mind using
