stock fuel feed/return at the tank

I'm finishing up the design for my fuel system right now. I just need to know one thing before I can finalize it and order all the parts.

Quick run down on the fuel setup;
walbro 255 in tank feeding bosch 044 external
-6 feed, will feed 6 injectors
aeromotive a1000
-4 return
car will have ~500 whp

Would I be better off modifying the gas tank cover for AN fittings (-6 feed, -4 return) or just leaving it as it is? I believe the stock feed line is 5/16 (not positive, will go out and measure later) which is only slightly smaller than the -6 (3/8). I don't see the stock feed being a restriction, but then again this is my first go at completely overhauling a fuel system.
