I took the car to another mechanic-they checked out the work that the other mechanics have done and said that so far things were looking fine. There was no leak and the rpm's are back to normal.
For all of you that are completely annoyed with the fact that i don't know anythin about my car...sorry about that..i bought a book on rx7's a couple of days ago and i'm reading up on it.
I won't be getting on this site much because i've started school and i need to focus on that..i'm sure some of you are cheering about that too..lol
so..the last thing i'm going to ask for a while (or until i have time to ask again..) does anyone know any GOOD rotary mechanics in the KISSIMMEE/ORLANDO, Fl. area....if u can give me the names or links..it would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

$1000 for all new parts? Did you get an estimate somewhere else to compare? I can spend over $1000 just on gskts and seals. They must like you so much they did the labour for free and even bought you the rest of the parts themselves...

What's with the BS about RXs have special needs and they're a responsibility? You guys are full of ****! The blind leading the blind...

Shut the hell up.......I see you treat your 7 like **** then. With an RX-7 you have to pay attention to it more then the cars u see to day..

First - Are car operates competely different then most cars

Second - How many times have you found a rotary mech in your area.

Thrid - Not to many people understands the working of a rotor driven car...hell I know a guy that drives his driven his ar for 2 years and didn't know he had a rotary.

Every car has a nit picky thing and getting an Rx-7 does come with a responsiblity......For example you a lot of people rebuild there own engine......Aren't you taking care of your own car......? That sounds like being responsible.....Its not the blind leading the blind....But didn't you take the time to understand the workings of your car........if you did Then what the **** do u call being responsible.

That is are responsiblity....when it screws up the owner deals with it..not pep boys not uncle joes mech shop down the street.

If you fix your car like you write, it's sure to be a P.O.S.

I do treat my RX like ****, takes a beating and keeps on ticking! Had an EX that never new a 10 yr old car could be so reliable and require so little maintenance.

Obviously your car opperates differently, you worked on it! Mine works like most people's, step on the gas it goes, brake it stops...

Find a mechanic? I never looked, I've been one for decades...

You're right, most people don't understand how a rotory works. Most people don't know how any engine works. Hell, they don't know how their brakes work, they just know how to use them. So? Example, can you tell me the physics involved in the primary and secondary ignition system, specificly, why do you need a capacitor and exactly what effect it has on the rest of the system? No? Ok then, what part is in the GSL brake master cylinder that makes it different than the GS brake master and where is it?

I notice people like to try to rebuild their own motors. I get a lot of near new parts that way. After years of opening other people's rebuilds (people like you) I've only found one that looked proffessional and it was the ONLY one that was put together correctly.

Sorry Mouse... I really don't know what your problem is. Acutally, Im not here to be number one in giving advice. Your attitude is horrible and you use profanity in every other sentence.

I really don't like to assume...that is what your doing.

1. Im not a pilot..I have been an aircraft mech for 10 years

2. I have been an automotoive mech for 12 years.

3. I am ASE cerified.

4. I do kniow the how the igintion system works on the GSL and Actually i helped design an igition system for an experimental aircraft.

5. Sorry you have beef with me...however this is aforum and your going to get different types of advice.

You sir, are an ***. Please tell me where you live so I can stay far, far away. I find that taking it to someone who has had a great deal of knowledge in rotaries is better than taking it to some schmuck down the corner. 12a's and N/A 13b's sure last a long time, but someone with knowledge in the area can keep your engine running longer in tip top condition longer than any "Joe Schmuch" mechanic. First off, if you go to a mechanic and he asks you if it has a 6 cylinder or an inline 4 **** OFF, LEAVE. He may put sinthetic oil in your rotary or put the Apex Seals on backwards. And besides, most people who are actually knowledgeable in rotaries can port your engine and help you out in reliable mods that will increase the performance of your rotary.

Rotaries Burn oil. Go to the Canadian or 1st gen board, they talk about putting 2 stroke oil in with your fuel, using premix and MMO.

peace.

would you guys stop bickering like a bunch of little school kids? mouse, obviously you haven't been on here too long but we don't like attitude. eraumazda, chill. there is no need to get your panties in a wad over something as stupid as this and that reltaliation was a bit overzealous.

rx's in general will need a bit more maintenance and precaution as to the nature of there problems, mainly lack of tolerance to temp and detonation that a psiton engine doesn't have. also the other 20 trillion quarks. and since the powerplant is different and only in the rx's then most mechanics f it up or won't even touch it. meaning if you blow your motor then you better damn well know what you are doing. thus why we are pushing for her to become knowlegable.

so i tell you what, you go post this out in the lounge area. that we are all the blind leading the blind and all full of bs. talk smack out where most everyone will see you. and i believe many have already questioned the price and her lack of knowlege in what was done. do get your prescription checked. also, don't nail someone else's grammar while using bad grammar. not only is it childish but makes you look like a bigot.

lilrx7chic, its good to see you're reading up. hope you visited my link and saw the animation, etc. hope school goes well for you.

Thank god shes gone, i'm sorry, i'm all for everybody learing about rotaries, females, males. But not people like that, she is just erregant and ignorant, she gained absolutly no help from her post and has done nothing but waste our time. (appart from giving us a good laugh there with the camshaft) but we should not laugh at things like that, because she really didnt have much of a clue. The problem was she wasnt looking for the type of help that we provide, she was looking for a solution, she didnt care about what was going into it or how or what was replaced, she just thought that making a cry for help on such a forum would magicly solve all her problems.
This all makes no sense to her i'm sure, but she is right, i for one 'am very happy that she is gone and hopefully when or if she comes back her posts will have a useful purpose. But so far her posts here are a lost cause for all.

Listen sergi, chicks don't want solutions. They only want empathy. They want to tell their story and be heard, that is why they are so different than men. So don't get pissed at a chick acting like a chick. If she was a good DIY rotary owner she would not be a real chick!

Have you seen women that know how to and like working in cars? They are just not the same

Anyhow I am just having a little fun here. It is so funny how all you naive guys thought she would listen. Chicks don't listen, they try to get guys to listen to THEM!

88integraLs: I think you're right. I know she said that she has finals or whatever but she didn't even thank me for being nice to her and trying to help a fellow newbie out! I could have ripped into her like a few guys did but I didn't. I felt sorry for her and her car problems. well I don't anymore. She probably just joined this forum to get us to help her out with her problem. Now that it's fixed "she has finals and won't be visiting for a while" I hope I'm wrong about her and I hope she ends up learning more about her car. If not she should be banned from this forum. I also think it's time to close this thread. All that anyone is doing here is just bitching (like me) anyway. "Good luck on your finals" Lilrx7chic!(camshaft!)

88IntegraLS thats what i meant, thanks for clearing it up. My point was that "It is so funny how all you naive guys thought she would listen. " <-exactly. I did not help her out, just pointed out to everyone that she was not listening and was a lost cause, but ur absolutly right I shouldn't get mad, and i dont think I was but might have come off as. However i'm still glad that shes gone cuz I dont want to have a new forum called "empathy". Anyways i'm done.

i understand guys, but you aren't going to save much or change anything. whether i wasted 30sec making my posts or not, isn't going to kill me or stress me out. so i'd suggest not worrying yourselves. just let her do as she pleases and if she is putting **** in here then a mod will move it to the lounge or where ever.

Hey everyone..ya miss me? yea...right...*lol*
Well...i gave up complaining..and relying on other people to mess with the car..well, mechanics anyway.
A couple of days ago-my car starting making a raddling noise under the hood...at first i thought it was the power-stearing pump (because everytime i turned the wheel..the raddling grew louder)..so i checked it out..and it was EMPTY...dry as ****...i thought you had to change all the fluids when you changed the oil to a new engine? or rebuilt..or whatever they did to it..well, anyway..i guess they drained it and forgot to add some in. So i added power-stearing oil in the pump and turned the wheel side to side..the noise died down but, didn't stop. The next day i drove it around and the noise was just as loud as the day before. After that i gave up..i opened the hood thinking..if its going to die on me anyway..i might as well look around and see what i can do before it completely died....first thing was..i checked the belt...i un-tightened the pully and took the belt off..i turned on the car and the noise was gone...so i put the belt on-tightened it and i turned on the car again..the noise was gone. the mechanics didn't tighten it enough..after that i put in some screws where it was needed on the engine..(the mechanics didn't put all of them back in..those *******) and now the car sounds fine.
The anti-freeze light keeps coming on but, i know there's anti-freeze reaching the engine because i opened the cap and there was some in there...so maybe there's a loose fuse? don't know..i'm going to find the book and find out myself...
So how did i do for my first try?
Talk to u guys later..
