Steering rack experts, or anyone whose taken one apart

I am doing an engine swap & the line fitting on the center of this rack is getting in the way.

Steering rack experts, or anyone whose taken one apart-fd-rack-w-arrows.jpg

Is it possible to rotate everything to the left of the pink line 90 degrees ?

On the steering box casting ( just to the right of the pink line ) looks like there are 2 pins holding the tube ( Left of pink line ) to the box casting. Is this so ?

Or is the tube soldered, threaded or pressed into the steering box ?

Any internal slots, keyways etc prevent the tube being rotated ?

If the tube & fitting can be rotated this would really help things out.

Any info welcome.

thanks

Thanks for the good diagram.

Looks like everything must be removed to see how the tube is attached.

Probably the only person who would know the answer is someone that rebuilds them, or deals with alot of racks.

If the tube leaked or was damaged , would be the only reason someone would normally try to remove the tube section.
