starting streetport on stock edu reasoning for my difficulty?

Built this healthy engine -120 psi all faces- and had already bought a megasquirt, but decided to start it on the stock ecu. (Trying to start a brand new engine with a diy computer adds so much confusion.)

------it's a series 4 turbo ecu-------------
are these reasons listed below, valid reasons for being so hard to start?

1. the engine is pineapple medium street ported intake and exhaust
2. the new housings are s5 with the larger spark plug gap (s4 ecu issue with this?)
3. s4 high compression rotors
4. have my base fuel pressure set at 40 psi (isn't stock 38 or something?)

if these reasons aren't that big of a deal i can't think of why this engine has such a rough time starting up, but when ti does, it runs fine.
