Hi i just put a new trans in my 88 5 spd 13b and the starter is not engaging the flywheel, i have tried almost everything i can think of it just turns without hitting the flywheel, ive turned the flywheel with a screwdriver to make sure it wasnt seized, i replaced the clutch in a few months back and never had a problem, any idea would be greatly apprecitated, thanks again in advance

 

Check the solinoid on the starter!! Give it a good tap with a hammer or pry bar or something. then try to start it, if not have some one else turn the key and you tap the sloinoid.. (Some times they begin to stick, a good cleaning is never a bad thing, and it's really not so hard to do!!) I've had this problem my self on my 81 as well as my old 84. It's usually the best place to start looking
