should i and how to test engine compression?

hi, i just found my factory twins turbo was broken, and the primary turbo shows quite some damage to the fin due to the broken bearing and the shaft play is really bad on it, i just wonder if the chips of the fin would go into the engine and cause damage to the seals, i removed all the piping and intercooler but couldn't find any chips, so i guess the best way to test the engine is to test the compression, right? if so is it just the same way to test like other piston engine? do i have to test at both leading and trailing plugs?

You can use a piston motor compression tester.

No, you do not have to test both leading and trailing, either or works.
