Hey everyone, I'm looking to raise my 81 up to drop the trasmission. This is my first time really raising a car this high up and my pinch welds are pretty much done for, rusted to hell. I wanted to get a second opinion on the community about where the safest place would be for raising the car up from the pictures I took doing just a jack lift.
I knew I could jack up the car from the dif but I am unsure about where to put the stands on the back, I included 5 pictures of the back.
I am unsure of where to jack the car up and where to put the stands on the front side, I put the jack on what I can assume is the subframe but didn't lift it up. I included 3 pictures of that.
For the level of the ground in the picture I know it's bad so the car will be moved to a more level spot, just had it there for the pictures. Thanks everyone! Front 1 Front 2 Front 3 Back 1 Back 2 Back 3 Back 4 Back 5
I like to put the jackstand on the frame. I don't see a pick on the front where I put mine, but on the rear pic 4 the hole just rear of that seam. The front has a seam very similar.
You might already know this but do the front first. If you do the rear first the jack won't fit under the car to get to that cross member to jack up. Also make sure to set the brake when jacking the front.
