rx7 charcoal canister

i took off a lot of the emission vacuum lines off and right now i think im only 3 to 5 vac. lines....can i take off the charcoal canister as well?

and i also just did a non-turbo to turbo engine swap...on the turbo housing i think its the knock sensor ( right above the spark plug) should i wire that up or can i leave it unplugged...my power fc has a knock reading but i dont know whats it for....any hints?

You can take off the charcoal canister, but you then need to run a catch can from the nipple near the oil fill tube to the catch can. AND the catch can must be vented. this is for crankcase ventilation, and the catch-can is to collect the oil that comes with the ventilation.

The knock sensor I am not so sure about...a good tuner probably won't need the knock sensor...but it may save your motor one day.

are you talking about a chacoal canister? The one with the metal check valve that is used to vent the fuel vapor. Or something else?

its on the passenger side near the firewall...it vents fuel vapor and and theres a nipple coming off the block just under the oil fill tube....i guess when u hook up a catch can...u can also run the fuel vapor line to that to...just so u wont get the smell of vapors...
