Contemplating a electric motor installation to a first gen for a partial hybrid setup. Any threads about this that you know of? Let me know if there are, or if you have any comments on this idea. Thanks

 

I've seen a 3rd Gen converted to fully electric, but no hybrid rotaries. The Alternative Vehicle club at Cal Poly Pomona was contemplating a hybrid rotary this summer, I'm not sure if they're still going to build it or not. From what I've seen, the transmission of hybrids (such as the Prius or Element) is the unique part. I'm not sure if you could retrofit this to a RWD chassis; it might be easier to swap a rotary into a vehicle that's already been designed for hybrid use. Contact that AV club, they'll have more info for you.
