RX-7 engine specs...snowmobile project :)

Way back when, the snowmobile company Arctic Cat used rotary engines in their snowmobiles. With these stupid gas prices, I've decided I want to take a brand new snowmobile chassis, and drop in a mazda rx-7 non turbo engine. I say non turbo because like I said I'm looking for mpg, not performance (yet). Thing is, most snowmobiles get around 10 mpg...and in my case it's 10 mpg with premium, and I think that an rx-7 gets around 20 or something like that on average? My question is did the rx-7 ever have carburetors? If they did, when did they switch to tbi, and did they ever have mpi engines? How much performance will I lose with a carburetor, how much mpg will I lose with a carburetor? Umm....what's the horsepower and tourque of a non turbo rotary engine. Also, what rpm does a rx-7 engine idle at, redline at? How are they in cold weather? My snowmobile idles around 1,500 rpm, and the clutch engages at 5,100 rpm, and I think it redlines at 8500 or 9000 rpms. I know rotary engines are high reving engines, and that's why I believe this whole thing may be possible. The reason I want to go with a carbureted engine is because that way I don't have to have a battery to power the ecu and all that; I'll just have to find a way make the ac voltage work with the rotary engine so that it gets spark. I know this may sound way far fetched, but I've always wanted to do a crazy project like this, and this one seems the most practical out of all my ideas. Oh, that reminds me...where can I find a rx-7 non turbo engine? Are there any good websites that can assist me with that? Thanks for the help.
