I have always wondered about this. I am thinking of purchasing an 88 rx7 for a drift car. On ebay all of them look like 2 seaters, but seat belts are coming out of the floor from behind the front seats....
So DO rx-7s have back seats to seat more than 2 people? I don't want to buy a car that I can't cruise around in with more than 1 person.

 

Not all RX-7s had rear seats. They all have the attach points for the rear seats and the rear seat belts, but most of the cars were 2 seats with 2 storage bins in the rear where the seats go. The rear seats are not full size seats, its called a +2 seat. A full size adult would have a very very difficult time sitting back there in any kind of comfort. I'm talking from experience, I'm 6'1" and I tried sitting in a back seat before. I think anyone over 9 yrs old would uncomfortable sitting there for any legnth of time.

 

So is like there a backseat at all? sorry but i'm a newbie. So is the rx-7 like a crx. You know how like in the US the crx has no backseat. But JDM's has backseats and you can get the backseats from some JDM's or local junk yard. So i the rx-7 the same as the crx when it comes to the backseat thingy?

Ive got back seats in my 79 rx7. Cant fit anything bigger than a midget in there but i got em.

so yes some did have seats. i think it was only the us version that didnt

Does the midget have legs? If so, he wouldn't fit in my '85 back seat.

 

hha yeah, but he lays across the two back seats.... no way he could sit normally
