what would be a good way to learn about these engines,and i mean learn enough to rebuild one

Well, buy a rotary rebuild tape from Atkins Rotary. To figure out how it works, go to www.howstuffworks.com its on there.

A good way to learn about them would be to find a cheap rx7 with a blown motor and fix it. You cant beat first hand experience as a way to learn these things.
