Rotary motor
Rotary motor
Hey whats up everyone, I am hopefully getting a RX-8 when they come out so I just wanted some info and the rotary motor because I know absolutely nothing about rotary motors. Just wondering if anyone can give me some info on their reliability, longevity, etc....or a link where I can read about rotary motors. Another question I have is are they difficult to modify and maintain. Thats it for now. Thanks Dan

Well, considering you plan to buy a new RX8, you'd better keep your hands off from modifications, or you'll loose the waranty...

Usually it would be better to wait a year or two for a new model's major bugs to come out. Sine the new Renesis engine is a new design, and only time will be able to test its durabilities and how well it takes on modifications.
As the previous post suggested, do your homework on rotary engine's history upto current, and then decide for your self if you want to spend the time with this very special machine.

The rotary engine concept has been around for a while, but the Renesis does have some major reconfigurations. Try this link to see how the rotary engine works.

Its probably real similar to the link given above.
