Roataryre build

HI i'm new here. Nice to meet ya'll

i'm getting rx-7 s8 soon

im just worried about the engine rebuild

i heard they need a engine rebuild every 5 years or something

can anyone tell moe informations bout it

from what ive read, the stock REW should probably be rebuilt after 80-100k miles (130-160k km), i don't think there is a specific time/age in which a rebuild is neccesary.

like any engine. when it dies, loses compression beyond a certain point (manuals will give you proper suggestive psi), blows up, or if the engine is weak and you decide to rebuild it. a rotary is a mechanical object. like most mechanical objects, there's suggested tolerances. if it fails in one of these areas, such as its compression, it is suggested to rebuild. at the same time, if it runs - it runs (but you should look at rebuilding; boosting on a dying engine isn't good).
every 5 years? that's meaningless. too many variables. that's why there's specs to follow.

The bottom line is if you drive it like a regular sports car it will last just as long but too many guys feel that because the car is so smooth even at 9k rpms they can push it beyond the normal limits. Doing insane donuts all month then crying that their seals blew is the norm.
