Grabbin my cherry picker and I'm going to tackle my engine n tranny.. pull/cleanup today..

any suggestions (even pictures) on places to mount the picker too... and things I should watch out for ect... I've pulled my 302 out of my Comet a few times.. but the 302 is far simpler... thanks in advance

 

There are two pull hooks on the engine (unless the previous owner removed them). One is on the firewall side of the UIM, the other is near the alternator.

Other than that, unplug the ECU and the rest of the wiring harness from inside the car. Pull it through to the engine bay and pull it out WITH the motor. It will be much easier that way.

The rest of it is pretty straight forward. I would recommend pulling the tranny with the motor but that's up to you.

thanks for the response.... turned out to be a breeze.. the hardest part was taking off the rear wheel.. (other various stuff).. just had to use a prybar on the motor mounts.. cause they got stuck.. that's about it...

now it's on to simplify the whole engine bay.. ono!..
