problem with my 1990 RX-7 GLX
hey guys, im new here, and i was wondering if anyone can help me with my rx-7.
my cousin bought it for me, but were not sure what the problem is....the engine seems to "misfire" when it tries start, like, u hear the sound of the engine start, but it doesn't seem to catch on and start. it eventually does start after numerous tries, but my cousin took it to a local mechanic and he suggested doing a re-build of the engine. i was wondering if anyone knows if i might not need to rebuild it and if the problem could be something else
thanks

could be badly leaking fuel injectors. Pull the EGI fuse under the hood, if after pulling that it starts in 20-30 cranks, then you need to have your fuel injectors checked.
If it blows white smoke, you've lost a coolant seal and it needs rebuilt.
If it still takes forever to start it can be low compression (and needs rebuilt).
