is this possible. walbro 255 issue.
alright, so i bought a new walbro 255lph fuel pump, and like a typical idiot, didn't bother looking at the instructions and being short on time i wired up the leads backwards.
my setup is entirely all new. new 550/880 injectors, new haltech, new fuel pump, new fuel rails, new fuel line. basically everything was torn to the keg, and rebuilt for this season.
i hooked up red (at the clip) to power inside the FP holster, and the black to the screw/ground in the holster.
so i tried starting my car, and obviously it wouldnt start. pulled everything back out, and switched the wires, and the car started immediately after priming the line. HOWEVER, during tuning we kept running out of fuel under 3/4 throttle and up.. i honestly thought one time my motor was done for... i have yet to diagnose the fuel pressure, or inspect the stock fuel pressure reg as they came off my spare TII and i have no idea the condition of the rails.
what i'm asking is, by hooking up the leads for the fuel pump backwards (causing it to spin backwards) would that damage the pump itself? common sense tells me it's definitely not good, but im asking because it's the only known questionable item in my setup after having done this next to my fuel rails.... both sets of injectors were sent to RC to be cleaned/tested and came back showing perfect flow rates.
lmk please. thank you.
