Please Help

Well i have decided to take my rx7 to the mechanic. The problem started 3 days ago when i bought the car.. (wouldnt idle, poping, putting) I drove it around getting used to it and got on it pretty good and all the sudden it had no power sounded deep and more poping, i have looked for vacum leaks found a few (behind the intercooler was 4 vacum places had none i saw 4 hoses 3 small and 1 big 2 small ones were plugged.. i put a vavum hose to the bottom vacum and noticed a rod under the intercooler and by the alternator was off so i put it on. It sems like it is holding somthing back and has alot of [play.. Without it (the thing i connected it to moves back furthur) But wont because nothing is connected to it. I still hear a hiss like a vacum leak in the front part of the intercooler. it still has no power but holds an idle longer.. The engine seems smooth (like nothing hitting) but its deep and slow revs kinda ruff.. (but the engine sits there calm...) Anything i should mention to the mechanic (not a rotary guy but very smart(everyone in town says to goto him)) any help before i take it over on monday??? I'll have him check compression, vacums, need a belt change...

I have been posting in gen2 forum but little response

First thing, check the vacuum hose that goes from the back of the upper intake manifold to the sensor that is attached to the firewall next to the elbow.
