Over heating issue - Help!

So I bought my rx7 thinking the motor was blown....after trying to start it and blowing white smoke for 5 min the car held idle nicely and seemed to be okay. I ended up driving the car for 25 miles. The FD seemed great with no issues no white smoke, heater was blowing hot air. Etc. Stopped the car had lunch. Started right up no issues at all. No smoke or anything. Drove it back home and the Temp buzzer started going off. Luckly I was less than a mile from home and shut her down. Haven't started her up ever since. What's wrong and how do I fix it.....I started to think maybe it's the thermostate.....Hopefully it's not the waters seals. Help Please

your in for an early wake up call my friend. Sounds like a blown coolant seal.. The car probly had one before you bought it ...hence "blown motor." Your car was probly leaking coolant the whole way whether or not it was running good or not. And slowly as your coolant level went down your Coolant temperature went up...and eventually reached a threshold to where it couldn't keep up with heat dissapation.. which was why your temp buzzer went off.

The motor needs to come out, it needs to be rebuilt either way. Do some research here on the forum. Some members such as DJseven and others offer good reliable rebuilds for more than fair prices. Good luck and take care.

The white smoke from cold start is a sign. check for air bubbles and gas smell in the coolant also.

good luck
