Unhappy oil leak smells like gas?

Hey guys, I rebuilt my turbos recently, but they are still blowing oil. Obviously the insides are pretty worn, though they are still holding boost. I found a little oil residue on my garage floor recently that I believe is coming from the one or both of the turbos. When I cleaned it up, I found that the oil smelled kinda like gasoline, but it had the texture of oil. Does anyone know what the hell this means?

Don't forget that carbon builds up in the oil causing it to have a semi-fuel smell. If you DO have an oil leak from the turbos, one common place to check are the oil feed and return lines. They have a simple little gasket that is a bitch to get to, but CAN cause an oil leak. Just because the oil is coming from the oil area doens't mean the compressors themselves are leaking the oil.

Hey, thanks for the info. I do believe it's my turbos though, because they are blowing oil, and I found a small drop of oil built up on the bottom of my secondary turbo compressor.
I just put my engine back in, and have been running low boost while I break it in, so I am going to turn up the boost today and see if the turbos hold it. I heard if the turbos are leaking to much oil, they won't hold boost.
