GA NO RPM or SPEEDOMETER or Mileage read out, but the lights come on.

This has somewhat recently started to occur... I moved my car and noticed that the RMP gauge, speedometer, and mileage read out was not registering. Then a few days later I cranked it up and it all registered. Then the other day I drove it around for about 60 miles and the entire time the RMP was at 0 and speed was at 0. The lights on the cluster come on and the oil gauge, fuel gauge, and temp gauge work just fine. The mileage read out is also not lighting up.

Does anyone know where I should start my troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance.

In the future If you state /\/\ That..you may get answers.
Otherwise the car could be a '63 Buick!

Given that its multiple components including the speedometer I think its safe to say hes got an FD rx7 which has an electronic sensor for speed as opposed to a cable.

You probably just need someone to rebuild your cluster.

Sorry, yes its a '92 JDM FD Rx7.

I have another cluster that I can pop into the car, but I was thinking its a connection problem somewhere. (Cluster removal in these cars is tricky and I'd hate to crack something on the dash or bezel)

Does anyone know where the data is gathered from to provide the RPM and Speedometer details?

Thanks

cluster should take you about half hour to remove first go. They arent very difficult. just watch out for the top bezel clips.

However, you have 2 problems. The voltage signal for the tacho, and the speedometer sensor. Milage isnt logging if the speedometer sensor isnt working. One place to start would be at the body plug, located near the ECU. Check you have signals from both the tach wire, and the speedometer. There are tests within the FSM for these.

Are both problems occuring at the same time?

It does sound like a cluster issue, however check for signals first. Its the process of elimination.

Yes, problems happen at the same time.

I checked the connections and they are good.

Is there a plug or connector to check under the hood?

Thanks
