no anwers to be found in 2nd gen section

I have been through all the facts and read all the answers but to no help
and I have yet seen anyone that has the same problem I do post that they got it fixed. Here we go.Ok I have put in 2 engines in my 86 gxl and have had the same problem with both.At aorund 3800 i get that hesitation but hold on not just that--in and rpm range after that the car falls on its face,hesitates--massive backfires, and backfires on decelaration.Everyone has told me the secondaries are not comming on causing this issue---ok,well in the second motor I just put in,I used the injectors it came with and its fuel rails.I have a racing beat header and I just wired the ports open to see if that would help--nope
Another weird thing is,if it sits like over night and fire it up,it will run perfect for about 2 or 3 hard launches but it goes back to doing the same thing. What could possibly be causing this.--please I dont want to here --is it grounded--thats not the issue.Hell I am about to put some new injectors in,another wirring harness and another ecu hoping thats got to be the issue--any help would be usefull

Problem

It sounds like you secondary injectors are not working. Seeing that you have had the same problem with two engines I would think of checking the injector solenoid resistor located on the right front near the headlight. Next would be the ECU. Good luck.

Holy cow!
You run into a 99% chance it's the secondary fuel injectors and you start changing engines???
I gotta give you an A for effort...

First, it's not the engine - with your description of the problem, it has to do with the secondary fuel injectors not firing.

Second, since you change fuel injectors, it's most likely not the fuel injectors itself.

Third, with all those eliminated, it's either the WIRING HARNESS (most likely) or ECU (least likely).

I would think the wiring harness is screwed or you didn't attach a ground for the wiring harness securely.

Lastly, with bad subject lines, you're not going to get good replies.
