Newbie here, couple of questions

Whats up guys, just thought I would drop in and see whats up with an RX-7. I've been reading up on them and was wondering how many motors have you guys been through? I've been threw 3 in my Celica. How much is a new motor from Mazda? Is a '93-'94 RX-7 for like $13-$14,000 going to be a peice of crap? Lets see its got 86,000 miles on the body and tranny and 14k on a new motor and turbos (maybe a new clutch I'll have to ask him). That on is a '93 for $13500. I found a '94 with 60,000 on the body and motor for like $14,200. What do ya'll think?

well ive only been through one motor, but its not a twin turbo either. as for the 3rd gens, they can be questionable depending on their history. its always important to get em checked out as with any car.

research

well, the rx-7 is friggin awesome....if you care for it correctly. Because the engine is rotary you have to realize that it is defferent from all the piston engines out there. Poorly take care of you can blow the engine up in a week. Properly cared for some last to around the 200,000 mile mark. It depends on what you do with it, how you mod it, and how well you care for it. I would reccommend reading up an the rx-7 and the rotary a lot more before making a move on one. Once you feel familiar with them, and you know what you want it for, then you will know what kind to look for, be it here, autotrader, ebay, or whatever. I have been learning about the cars for a while now, and recently decided I am ready to own one, but have been looking for the prefect one for at least a month and a half. Anyway, good luck man. These cars are like nothing else out there.
