newbe questions

ok i am a newb so please dont flame any of my questions.

i just got a 85 gsl-se and i put a AEM cai on it. It fit and every thing, but what do i do with the air flow censor?

question#2 there is a rubber hose that went into the old intake, comming off of the smog pump i beleave, what do i do with this??? plug it?? leave it open??

question#3 can i take the belt off the smog pump so its not spinning??

question#4 does the heater work off the same pump as the ac compressor?? i would like to take the belt off that also.

1. my cars have all been carbed so no idea on the intake

2. the hose to the air pump proly an air source air for the pump. you probably need it to draw air, clean may not be a priority tho.

3. You shouldn't disable the air pump because 1. It says not to on it. 2. Your emmisions will suffer. 3. Your cat will not be getting any air and may fail or collapse.
If you have no cat, go ahead, take it off, remove the pump too cos its heavy. Everyone else has.

4. If you a/c works keep it because a/c kicks ***. The heater uses a heater core under the dash (or similar) which is full of hot engine coolant. An electric fan blows air over this to give you heat.
